The first engineering sample of AMD's Raven Ridge APUs have been leaked through the SiSoft database, and the new listing confirms several key details we've been hearing over the past few months, along with AM4 processor specs.

Leaked a sample version of the AMD Raven Ridge APU

Although Raven Ridge is still a long way from hitting stores, there are some details already known about the next generation of these accelerated processing units.

Specifically, the AMD Raven Ridge APUs will arrive as a huge update compared to the previous Excavator and Steamroller. The main improvements are in the Zen cores that deliver higher IPC and more efficiency along with the new graphics cores that would apparently have similar improvements to the AMD Vega class GPUs.

The SiSoftware listing reveals that the chip is codenamed " AMD Mandolin Raven " and is part of a desktop platform with the ID "2M3001C3T4MF2_33 / 30_N". This chip will use the new AMD 15DD graphics processor and will be based on the Zen core architecture with a total of 4 cores and 8 threads.

On the other hand, the clock frequency will be 3.0 GHz, while the maximum speed will become 3.3 GHz, although it must be borne in mind that these are simple engineering samples and the speeds may not be final.

The chip also has 2 MB of L2 cache and 4 MB of L3 cache. As for graphics, the new core incorporates 11 computational units, which would translate to a total of 704 stream processors, while the graphics chip runs at a speed of 800 MHz.

AMD has already confirmed that Ryzen 3 processors will arrive in the second half of 2017, while Ryzen mobile chips will be released in the Christmas season, the same period in which we could see Raven Ridge APUs on the market.
