Leaked AMD roadmaps for Zen2 and Raven Ridge
The first batch of Apus codenamed ' Raven Ridge ' will hit the notebook market this year, with ' Bristol Ridge ' - even with Bulldozer / Excavator architecture - the only ones coming to the current AM4 desktop socket.
It will not be until 2018 when the end of modular architecture comes to us, being Raven Ridge the one that really replaces Bristol Ridge, with up to 4 Ryzen cores (so we expect up to 8 logical processors) and about 11 high graphics cores performance (704 Shaders if they continued with 64Cus per core), this time using 'VEGA' and the not yet mentioned or confirmed HBM memory.
We recommend reading our guide on the best processors on the market.
As for 'Pinnacle Ridge', it will be the next generation of the newly released 'ZEN' architecture, called 'ZEN2' which will offer a similar range to the current Ryzen 7 and the imminent R5 and R3. One of the most expected improvements is higher operating frequencies.
More details about all this are expected tomorrow at the ' AMD Technology Summit 2017 ' located in China, where data is expected about Ryzen and the also expected range of high-performance graphics 'VEGA'.
