Ser expects second-generation AMD Ryzen processors to hit the market throughout April, specifically targeting Day 19, although this has not been confirmed by AMD. Now, the prices of these new processors have appeared on Amazon, so we can already know what awaits us.

Amazon lists second-generation Ryzen prices

Second-generation Ryzen processors will be a slight upgrade from the original models, with a more advanced memory controller, and higher operating frequencies thanks to GlobalFoundries' 12nm manufacturing process.

Prices for AMD's second-generation Ryzen have been leaked today, with four models ranging from the Ryzen 5 2600 / 2600X 6-core to the Ryzen 2700 and 2700X eight-core. Unlike the first generation, all of these processors will ship with a standard heatsink, adding great extra value. Prices have been leaked by Amazon, and are much more affordable than the original Ryzen at launch.

The prices listed have been as follows:

  • Ryzen 7 2700X 337.67 euros Ryzen 7 2700 336.46 euros Ryzen 5 2600X 227.77 euros Ryzen 5 2600 214.97 euros.

They are very similar prices to those of the Core i5 and Core i7 of Intel, with the extra value on the part of AMD to offer a greater number of processing cores. Intel has taken the batteries with Coffee Lake, offering up to 50% more cores and threads than in previous generations, which has caused AMD to also have to adjust the prices of its new silicons, blessed competition.
