Intel unveiled three ninth-generation Core processors for the desktop in October, but the company's intention is to expand the offering not only for desktop CPUs, but also for notebooks with the Intel Core 9000-U.

Lenovo IdeaPad S530-13IWL leaks new Intel Core 9000-U processors

According to the specifications of a future version of the Lenovo IdeaPad S530-13IWL, the laptop will be equipped with three current CPUs belonging to the Whiskey Lake family (Core i7-8565U, Core i5-8265U and Core i3-8145U), but also new Core i7-9550U, Core i5-9250U and Core i3-9130U. The possibility of using one series or the other family suggests that the Core 9000 U series is likely to be roughly identical to the eighth generation, compatible with at least the same motherboards. There's no word on the tech specs yet, but since the 10 nanometers are a long way away, they 're likely to be Whiskey Lake chips at higher frequencies.

The specs haven't been mentioned, but the Core i7 and Core i5 will be quad-core parts with hyper-threading enabled, while the Core i3 will be a dual-core part with hyper-threading enabled. Similarly, the Core i7 will have 8MB of L3 cache, the Core i5 will have 6MB of L3 cache, and the Core i3 will have 4MB of L3 cache. Core i7-9550U will be the fastest in the group, but with a 10-15W design, Intel can't do much if you're using the existing 14nm ++ process node and the same architecture as Skylake.

An announcement at CES 2019 in Las Vegas in January is not excluded, with availability in the second quarter of the same year. The presence of the new laptops on the market will depend on the way Intel has faced its current problems, and we hope that by then it will resolve the situation of production shortages that the company is currently experiencing.
