G.Skill has revealed new high-speed DDR4 memory modules for AMD's X399 platform, offering DDR4-3466 speeds when used with popular Ryzen Threadripper series processors and motherboards .

G.Skill Releases Optional 3466 MHz DDR4 Memory for AMD Threadripper

This kit includes 4x8GB modules and offers CL18-22-22-22-42 times, with each kit validated on a Ryzen Threadripper 2950X and an ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha motherboard. Before this product, G.Skill's DDR4 memory kits for X399 offered speeds of 3200MHz, so here's a good leap in operating frequencies.

These new memory modules will be part of the extensive range of Trident Z RGB memories for AMD processors, which are also known as TZRX models. These new DIMMs will operate at a voltage of 1.35V and are designed to operate in a four channel configuration. The RGB lighting that G.Skill offers in this series remains unchanged, as well as its other operating characteristics, the only thing that will vary will be the operating frequency at 3466 Mhz, which will help to get more out of Threadripper processors with this series of TridentZ RGB memories.

G.Skill plans to launch these new memory modules from the Threadripper series in the first quarter of 2019, which means that, between this January and March, we should have these memories available in stores. The prices of these new kits at the moment are unknown.
