Galax is unveiling a variant of its Galax Gamer 240-M.2 PCI-E 2280 SSD, but now with RGB lighting to give it a little more life, although it's still a bit ugly, but that's a personal opinion.

Galax adds RGB lighting to its Gamer M.2 SSD

This model would be exactly the same as the Gamer 240-M.2 PCI-E 2280, which comes with a red aluminum heatsink to control the high temperatures it can generate in full operation. The only difference here is that RGB lighting is added.

With its 240 GB of storage space, the unit can easily reach 1200 MB / s in read speed and about 800 MB / s in write speed. The 240GB M.2 Gamer reaches 220, 000 IOPS in the random write range. To achieve this, Toshiba's 3D NAND TLC Flash memory is used. There is also a 120GB version, but that model doesn't come with a built-in heatsink.

The original model certainly doesn't look very aesthetic, so Galax had the idea to add RGB lighting to the set. This lighting does not have any type of connector to be able to customize it via software, but it is possible to select up to 7 colors.

At the time of writing, this model is not available on the official Galax page. We believe that its price will be somewhat more expensive than the variant without RGB, but it should not be much more.
