Geekbench 5 has been officially launched, bringing with it new cross-platform benchmarks to test a wide range of processors in different environments, as well as on graphics cards through i OS, Android, Linux and Windows with ARM or x86 based processors.

Geekbench 5 lacks support for 32-bit processors

Unlike Geekbench 4, Geekbench 5 lacks support for 32-bit processors. New workloads have also been added for machine learning, augmented reality, and computational photography. As for the CPU, tests have also been updated to better utilize multi-core processors.

On the GPU side, Geekbench 5 has been updated to support the Vulkan API, along with CUDA, Metal, and OpenCL. Vulkan Compute tests are available on Android, Windows and Linux. This benchmark is not available on iOS or macOS due to operating system API restrictions.

This release comes two weeks after the release of the first beta version of Geekbench 5, demonstrating Primate Las' confidence in its new product.

Geekbench 5 CPU Benchmark includes new tests that are more similar to the applications we use every day. These tests use cutting-edge technologies, including machine learning, augmented reality, and computational photography.

Perhaps most interestingly here is that the tests are now much more optimized for multithreading, allowing threads to work cooperatively on one problem rather than separately on different problems. With the addition of different threading models, Geekbench 5 better captures the performance of different multithreading applications on computing devices.

To celebrate the launch of Geekbench 5, Primate Las has reduced the cost of the app by 50% in the Primate Labs store until September 10.
