After the problems related to the speed of the fans that were solved with a driver update, the new Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards have a new problem, this time related to the use of dual-link DVI monitors and affecting both Founders Edition models and custom cards.

GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 are hit again with problems

The new problem discovered affects dual-link DVI monitor users making the equipment impossible to boot if pixel clock settings above 330 MHz are used. Users can boot with the default pixel clock and then upload it to the level they want without any problem, the defect only prevents booting with pixel clock levels above 330 MHz. The main problem is that you have to revert the configuration every time. that turns off or reboots the computer, something that can really be quite annoying.

The problem was detected in the first place on the Founders Edition cards although it was possible to confirm all the units including the custom cards. Users of GTX 1070 custom cards have been able to confirm that their computers are unable to boot with pixel clock settings higher than 330 MHz. The boot screen fills with colors showing erroneous behavior while the BIOS works perfectly thanks to the fact that it works at a resolution lower.

We will see if Nvidia is also capable of solving this problem by drivers or if, on the contrary, it is something more serious that cannot be solved.
