After some leaks indicated that Gigabyte was preparing a new GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card with a blower design, the company has officially unveiled it as the Gigabyte AORUS Turbo RTX 2080 Ti.

AORUS Turbo RTX 2080 Ti, the most powerful Turing chip with a turbine sink

The new Gigabyte AORUS Turbo RTX 2080 Ti graphics card features a blower-style heatsink, with a steam chamber, and a copper radiator with direct contact technology, to try to keep its monstrous 754mm² TU102 chip cool, and be able to offer all its benefits to the user. The Turing architecture is relatively energy efficient, and the chip's dissipation surface is large, so the thermal and acoustic performance of this heatsink should be adequate for the card.

The new AORUS Turbo RTX 2080 Ti has a core operating frequency of 1650 MHz, while its 11 GB of GDDR6 memory is maintained with a 14000 MHz clock, and a 352-bit interface. Regarding the video outputs, we find three DisplayPort ports, an HDMI port, and a USB Type-C port, for the new VirtuaLink technology of virtual reality glasses, which will arrive in the future facilitating cable management.

For now, its price has not been announced, although it is expected that it will be below the rest of the RTX 2080 Ti models with much more elaborate and expensive heatsinks to manufacture. Nvidia is also expected to have opted for the version of the TU102 chip that does not allow factory overclocking, which is more cheaply sold by Nvidia. It remains to be seen whether the limitations of this refrigeration design outweigh the supposed advantages or not.
