Very small computers are increasingly popular among the most demanding users, years ago it was unthinkable to have so much power concentrated in a very small space, but the great advances in electronics make it very feasible today to have a team of high performance that bulges very little. Gigabyte is one of the manufacturers that has most bet on this type of device is its Brix, today we have in our hands the Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD that has all the power of the GeForce GTX 950 together with an Intel Skylake processor, do not miss our complete analysis in Spanish.
Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD technical features:
Unboxing and design
The Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD comes to us inside a cardboard box in which the color black predominates and we see an image of the device along with its most remarkable characteristics.
Once we open the box we find the Gigabyte Brix GB-BNi7HG4-950 very well protected by several pieces of foam to prevent it from moving during transport and reaching the user's hands in the best possible condition.
Inside the box we find:
- Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD.Warranty card. Quick start guide. Power cord.
The Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD has dimensions of 220 x 110 x 110mm and a volume of only 2.6 liters in which it offers a very powerful team and capable of running all video games in very respectable levels of detail. Inside is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 graphic subsystem to offer performance far superior to that of the current PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, its GPU is based on the award-winning Maxwell architecture, very energy efficient and allowing to install a high-performance graphics card in a very small space.
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 is based on a GM204 GPU with a total of 768 CUDA cores, 48 TMUs, and 32 ROPs spread across 6 enabled SMMs. The GPU is accompanied by 2 GB of GDDR5 memory with a 128-bit interface and a reference frequency of 6.6 GHz that guarantees excellent performance along with Delta Color Compression technology.
Next to the graphics card is a 6th generation “Skylake” Intel Core processor manufactured at 14 nm and capable of offering very high performance for all tasks, the Gigabyte Brix GB-BNi7HG4-950 is offered in several versions with Core processors i5 and Core i7 so that the user can choose the one that best suits their needs. We have the version with an Intel Core i7-6700HQ consisting of four cores at base / turbo frequencies of 2.6 / 3.5 Ghz for sensational performance in all tasks.
The processor can be accompanied by two SODIMM DDR4 memory modules at a maximum speed of 2133 MHz and Dual Channel technology.
As for the storage of the Gigabyte Brix it has two M.2 slots so we can install two SSD disks in Raid 0 mode to achieve a very high data transfer speed and have a system with maximum fluidity, the games will also be seen benefited from noticeably higher charging speeds so you won't have to waste more of your precious time watching boring loading screens for a long time. If you want a large storage capacity, do not worry, the Gigabyte Brix GB-BNi7HG4-950 also has two SATA III 6 GB / s ports to which we can connect two 2.5-inch HDD hard drives.
We continue with the wireless connectivity WiFi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 4.2 in the form of an NGFF M.2 card so that we can enjoy a wireless Internet connection from the first moment and all the peripherals that use Bluetooth technology.
Finally we highlight its rear panel with the presence of several ports in the form of 2 x USB3.1 being one of them Type-C, 3 x USB 3.0, 3 x Mini DisplayPort, 1 x HDMI 2.0, Intel Gigabit Lany 3.5mm jacks for audio and micro.
All this in an innovative design that has been thought to offer the lowest possible resistance to internal air flow, thereby achieving great efficiency in the cooling of the Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD to keep the temperature of all its components under control with noise as low as 36 dB at full load.

WE RECOMMEND YOUIntel i7-7700k Review in Spanish (Complete analysis)We leave you some more important benchmark captures, from our numerous tests:
We have tested the machine with both Windows 10 and KODI ( The new XBMC) and the results have been excellent in 1080p multimedia playback. In addition, the Nvidia GTX 950 graphics card allows us to move freely with our 4K resolution) and play very good 1080 graphics on our monitor or television.
Finally we passed several consumer tests and compared it to a NAS. Since it is the few Gigabyte BRIX with a dedicated graphics card, it ranks as one of the most powerful miniPCs on the market .
Final words and conclusion about Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD
After two weeks of use with the Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD we can say that it is one of the best miniPC gaming solutions on the market. It incorporates a powerful i7 6700HQ processor, the possibility of adding 32 GB DDR4, a GTX 950 graphics card and it is packed with USB 3.0, wireless and Bluetooth connections.
In our performance tests it has made the cut and we have been able to play any current game with more than 50 FPS without any problem in Full HD resolution. While in 4K resolutions it becomes a more complex option and the performance in very demanding games has not been so favorable, which is obvious, considering that the GTX 950 defends 1080p very well.
Regarding consumption, we have obtained 23W at rest and 135W at maximum power. And the temperatures of both the processor and the graphics card have been very similar: 35ºC at rest and 75ºC at maximum load.
It can now be bought in European online stores for a price of approximately 920 euros. It is not a cheap option but you have to keep it in mind if you want a small aluminum PC.
