Out of the plethora of AMD-related announcements, GIGABYTE has announced a couple of Intel workstation motherboards and server board users. The GIGABYTE MU71-SU0 is designed for the Intel Xeon W-3200 processor family and is based on the single-socket C621 chipset. The other model is the GIGABYTE MD71-HB0, which is dual socket on the C622 chipset and supports Intel's Scalable Xeon processor product stack.

Starting with the GIGABYTE MU71-SU0, Intel's single-socket C621 model has many workstation features designed for use with Intel's Xeon W-3200 processors, ranging from 8-core models to 28 cores. The flexible Intel C621 chipset benefits from support for Intel's AVX-512, VROC RAID, and specifically the MU71-SU0, has an ASPEED AST2500 remote management controller.

The motherboard has six full-length PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and a half-locked PCIe 3.0 slot up to x4. It also includes a single PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 slot, with two Slim SAS connectors that provide eight STA ports with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 arrays.
