Exxact Corp, a business systems integrator for Intel, has released details on new motherboards from Tyan, a well-known manufacturer of motherboards targeting businesses. These motherboards use a pair of LGA3647 sockets, with DRAM slots at the top and bottom to optimize airflow through the server.

Tyan S7100GM2NR and S7100AG2NR, technical specifications of the new motherboards with Xeon Skylake-SP processors

As with the 2P motherboards we've seen previously, these sockets sport six full channels for DRAM memories, and one DIMM for each channel (1 DPC, although Xeon processors based on the Skylake-SP architecture are expected to bring support for 2DPC or 2DPC, depending on the model).

Although the leaked image is small and of poor quality, the specification list of the new TYAN S7100GM2NR motherboards (and TYAN S7100AG2NR) was published in full.

Each socket will have support for a TDP of 250W, against the maximum of 160W of the previous CPUs. This indicates that Xeon processors could have Knights Landing Xeon Phi chips, which currently require TDPs between 215W and 260W.

On the other hand, the chipset listed is the Intel C621, which is a new low-end processor, since Intel leaves the C608, C236 and others at the top of the pyramid.

As for the memories, the website that published the new Tyan motherboard indicates that there will be six memory channels per CPU, with support for up to 768GB of RDIMM / LRDIMM DDR4-2666 memory.

Likewise, the motherboard also has a single M.2280 slot, although it will primarily have four PCIe 3.0 x 16 slots, along with 3 PCIe 3.0 x8 slots.

Finally, the motherboard will also have support for 14 SATA 6Gbps ports, Ethernet connectivity (two RJ45 gigabit ports), four USB 3.0 ports and optionally a 7.1 sound system with Realtek ALC892 High Definition Audio Codec.

For now there is no better quality photo of the motherboard, but since it is already published on the web, surely better photos will come out to be able to carry out a greater analysis on the Tyan motherboard.
