Photographs of Intel's Crimson Canyon NUC have finally surfaced. WinFuture managed to get their hands on a dual-core Intel Core i3-8121U processor based on the Cannon Lake architecture. NUCs come with 4GB or 8GB of memory, a 2.5-inch hard drive, built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The Crimson Canyon NUC also features an AMD Radeon graphics card.
Crimson Canyon NUC with Cannon Lake and Radeon RX 500 GPU
The reference "Radeon 500-series" in one of the screenshots along with the "2 GB of GDDR5" on the packaging leads us to the conclusion that it is very likely that Intel is integrating a Polaris- based graphics card in the Crimson Canyon NUC. It is highly unlikely that we will find the CPU and GPU on the same chip in the Hades Canyon NUC. Instead, the GPU is likely to be soldered directly to the motherboard itself.
In the screenshots we can also see that the Cannon Lake processor is operating at a speed of 2.40GHz as the base frequency. The graphics card, for its part, does it with a frequency of 1124MHz.
The models with Intel Core i3-8121U (NUC8I3CYSM2 and NUC8I3CYSM3) cost around 450 euros, which is equivalent to approximately 550 dollars. However, there was no mention of when they will be available for sale. It doesn't seem like it will take too long for us to get hold of one of these NUCs.
