Intel adds 4 new core i3 'kaby lake' processors

In the coming months, new updated models of Core i3 processors based on the Kaby Lake architecture will be arriving, and together with them, the new KBL-U series SOCs for laptops and a new Xeon E3-1285 v6 chip, which would coincide with the specifications of the new Apple iMac.

The new processors of the Core i3 family

In total there will be 4 new models that will complement the existing ones based on Kaby Lake. Below we can see all the models that will be from now on the new Intel Core i3 lineup. The new models will be the i3 7120, i3 7120T, i3 7320T and i3 7340.

The main difference between new and 'old' models is the operating frequency. Those to be added will have lower frequencies and this is likely to be reflected in the price as well. All will have only two cores with Hyperthreading technology enabled. Kaby Lake's arrival on the i3 line marked a small milestone, adding an overclockable model to get the most out of those two physical and four logical cores.

Intel is also taking the opportunity to add 4 new processors for laptops with a TDP of only 15W, and in the case of the i5 7210 and i7 7510, with a turbo frequency that reaches 3.3GHz and 3.7GHz respectively. Again these 4 models have 2 physical cores.
