AIDA64 has received a new beta update that, among other things, adds support for the new AMD K18 ES processors, which means that the first units have already started shipping as engineering samples.

AIDA64 is updated for new AMD engineering samples

For those who do not know, the current Ryzen processors were called K17 ES in their state of engineering samples, thereby reinforcing the idea that the new generation of processors based on AMD's Zen architecture are very close to reaching the market. For this reason, it should not take us long to see the first results of these new engineering samples that would already be reaching the most privileged hands.

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 and AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Review in Spanish (Analysis)

This new generation of Ryzen will be based on Pinnacle Ridge silicon with Global Foundries' 12nm FinFET manufacturing process. So it is to be hoped that they will be able to reach higher operating frequencies, which will translate into better performance and probably a greater overclock margin to make them even better.

It is also to be expected that this second generation of Ryzen will arrive with all the problems solved, especially those that have to do with compatibility with high-speed RAM.
