New information indicates that Intel would be preparing the new Core i7-7740K and Core i5-7640K processors to combat the arrival of the new AMD Ryzen and all the hype that the new Sunnyvale microarchitecture has been generating for three years.
Intel Core i7-7740K and Core i5-7640: a simple twist to Kaby Lake
Both chips would not stop being overclocked versions of the current Core i7-7700K and Core i5 7600K based on the Kaby Lake microarchitecture. The launch of the Core i7-7740K and Core i5-7640K would confirm that the current Intel microarchitecture can offer much more but that the company does not have the need to do so due to the lack of competition that has led them to dominate the market as they wanted. For the past 5 years, Intel has simply had no shade since the arrival of Sandy Bridge.
Best processors on the market (2016)
The new AMD Ryzen processors are expected to offer a very big performance improvement, not so much to surpass Intel but they will be able to offer real competition to the semiconductor giant that will no longer have it as easy to follow as until now. Logically Intel is not going to be seriously threatened by Ryzen, and that no one doubts its ability to respond in the event that the new AMD processors finally turn out to be a bombshell, with a simple drop in prices would be enough, not to mention their large amount of capital for R&D that could lead them to reopen a significant gap between the two companies.
