The first performance benchmark for Intel's Core i9-9900K processor has been leaked into 3DMark. With this leak we can not only see the excellent performance that this CPU will have, but also the specifications that had been previously revealed are confirmed.

Intel Core i9-9900K demonstrates great performance with its 8 cores

The Intel Core i9-9900K aims to be the flagship processor for the ninth-generation Core to be released soon. This will be the first 8-core, 16-thread Intel desktop CPU. In terms of cache, the chip will feature 16MB L3 and will come with an Intel UHD 620 graphics chip.

Moving on to the 3DMark benchmarking results, the chip scored 10, 719 points (3DMark via TUM APISAK) on specific CPU execution and a total score of 9, 725 points with a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. The chip was tested on the ASUS Z370-F STRIX Gaming motherboard, confirming compatibility with existing 300 series motherboards while also being compatible with upcoming Z390 motherboards.

Comparing the score, we see that the Core i9-9900K is clearly ahead of AMD's Ryzen 7 2700X by about 1500 points and 2500 points over the Intel Core i7-8700K.

This advantage will likely improve with the final samples, as the chip being tested at a base frequency of 3.1 GHz, well below the expected base clock of 3.6 GHz, which has been confirmed in several other listings.

This processor is expected to cost between $ 400 and $ 450.
