Intel today released the new Core i3-8130U processor based on a dual-core, four-wire processor configuration under the Kaby Lake architecture.

Core i3-8130U Features

This new Core i3-8130U processor is intended for equipment where high energy efficiency is required, which is why it has been chosen to include only two cores, which allows maintaining a TDP of only 15W. This chip reaches a base speed of 2.4 GHz and a turbo speed of 3.4 GHz to improve its performance.

Intel has wanted to go a step further in energy efficiency with the inclusion of the TDP-down mode, this puts the processor at a frequency of only 800 MHz and reduces the TDP to 10W, something that will allow to stretch the life of the battery of the teams that mount it while maintaining good behavior.

Lastly, the Core i3-8130U includes 4MB of L3 cache, a dual-channel DDR4 memory controller supports up to 32GB of DDR4-2400 or LPDDR3-2133 memory, and the UHD Graphics 620 graphics processor with clock speeds ranging from 300 MHz and 1.00 GHz, 24 execution units and hardware acceleration for H.265 / HEVC with 10bpc color.
