Intel releases its new 58gb and 118gb optane 800p drives

Intel has released its new series of Optane 800p drives to offer larger capacities than the first generation of this technology, which was limited to a maximum of 32GB. Intel Optane 800P works as a cache device in systems with Kaby Lake or Coffee Lake processors, this technology allows to retain important data from an HDD or SSD to accelerate the most used applications. Optane is based on 3DXpoint non-volatile memory so data is not erased when the power goes out. Optane's high performance at low latencies makes this technology ideal for this use.

Optane 800P will be offered in 58GB and 118GB capacities with a price of $ 129 for the first and $ 199 for the second, this results in a cost per GB much higher than NAND memory-based SSDs, this is the main one Optane inconvenience and will make your adoption quite slow.
