Intel will hide the turbo frequency of its new processors

Intel seems to have taken a liking to the controversy and has declared that it will no longer officially reveal the turbo frequencies per core of its future processors, this is more important than it seems since it could make the optimization of the motherboards impossible.

New controversial decision by Intel

“We no longer reveal this level of detail as it is owned by Intel. We will only reveal base speed and single core turbo in marketing from our merchandising processors and technical details such as ARK and not multi-core turbo frequencies. We are aligning communications to be consistent. All Turbo frequencies are opportunistic given their dependence on system configuration and workloads."

This information can still be obtained through manual testing, and testing multiple motherboards would be the easiest way to ensure that there are no issues affecting a specific model. Ultimately, Intel's decision to restrict this information seems futile. This makes it more difficult for end users to determine if their platforms are configured correctly without actually preventing specific information from being discovered.

A controversial new decision from the company comes after it has removed the die solder and IHS on its new HEDT processors and the incompatibility of Coffee Lake processors with motherboards that are less than a year old on the market.
