Intel optane will not work with pentium or intel celeron processors
Table of contents:
Well it seems that the new Intel Optane disks will not work with Intel Celeron processors or with Intel Pentium. This limitation is a surprise! Since it is the range of Intel's best-selling processors by far compared to the always powerful Intel Core i3, i5 and i7.
Intel Optane does not work with Pentium or Intel Celeron processors
As we have already explained in our guide about Intel Optane. These new units are intended as an option to "avoid buying an SSD", although I see it as completely complementary. Mainly 16 and 32 GB drives have been launched at a more or less decent price.
These new devices have 3D Xpoint technology, which is a new type of memory faster than NANDs, according to Intel, it is up to 1000 times faster . The news is quite puzzling since at least we must acquire an i3-7100 that costs about 119 euros at least.
We recommend reading the best processors on the market.
Is the question that interests us the most? Mount an Intel Pentium G4560 with a 240 or 250 GB SSD with a more decent graphics card or an Intel Core i3 7100 together with an Intel Optane memory and a 1TB Western Digital Blue hard drive. Although with the i3 we have AVX and 200 MHz more, the Pentium G4560 can give us more games only in gaming. Allowing us later to do an upgrade to an Intel Core i7-7700k or an Intel Core i5-7600K.
What do you think about the news? Does this limitation seem like a wise option? Or do you think Intel should clarify the situation and allow low-end processors to have such interesting units.
