The Core i9 7920X will come at a base frequency of 2.9 GHz, which is 400 MHz below the Core i9 7900X, which is made up of 10 cores. For now, the turbo frequency of the new processor has not been disclosed, it is logical that as the cores increase, the operating frequencies must be reduced.

This new Intel processor will undoubtedly be compared to the 12-core, 24-wire Ryzen Threadripper that reaches base and turbo frequencies of 3.5 GHz and 4.0 GHz. The AMD processor is also expected to be priced lower than $ 400 so it should be a much better option in terms of performance / price.
