Intel continues to dominate (broadly) amd in steam stats
Table of contents:
Steam hardware statistics for the month of February have been revealed and we can only see that Intel's dominance over AMD continues, and even expands this month. Intel manages to increase its share among Steam players by + 0.54% compared to January.
Intel continues to dominate AMD on the Steam platform with 82.63% share
82.63% of gamers have an Intel processor, while 17.34% of gamers have an AMD processor, the two together reached 99.97%, so there are 0.03% of gamers using other processors that are neither of the two.
We also note that the most widely used processors, either at AMD or Intel, have a frequency between 3.3 and 3.69 Ghz. These frequencies apply to Windows and Linux systems, but not so in Mac systems, where the most represented processors have a frequency between 2.3 and 2.69 Ghz. Does this mean that Mac processors are a generation behind Windows computers?
Even with this drop, AMD continues to hold 17% share among Steam players. This is the first time since October of last year that AMD lost ground. If we look at the statistics, from October to November 2018 is where the highest AMD rise is recorded. For this reason, Intel's had been falling until everything was reversed in February.
We will see how everything evolves this year, where Intel and AMD will launch their new processors for the desktop market.
