Intel NUC is a series of computers that is very popular among users of very small computers. The semiconductor giant is preparing to launch a new generation based on its eighth-generation processors and powerful Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 graphics.

Powerful Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 integrated graphics reach the next generation of Intel NUC equipment

Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 is the manufacturer's most powerful integrated GPU, with a total of 48 Execution Units and a 128MB L4 cache. This configuration makes it a graphic core capable of offering a very remarkable performance in all video games, so we would be talking about very compact and quite capable PCs. These new NUCs will belong to the Bean Canyon series, and will arrive with Intel Core i7, Core i5 and Core i3 processors. With all NUCs you must buy storage and memory separately.

We recommend reading our post about AMD Ryzen 3 2200G and AMD Ryzen 5 2400G Review in Spanish

The Intel Core i7-8559U processor features a 4-core, 8-wire processor configuration at a base and turbo frequency of 2.70 and 4.50 GHz respectively. Its Iris Plus Graphics 655 graphics core reaches 1.20 GHz, all with a 28W TDP. We go down one step and find the Core i5-8259U with 4 cores and 4 threads at 2.30 and 3.80 GHz with the same GPU at 1.05 GHz and a TDP of 28W. Lastly, the Core i3-8109U is a 2.00 and 3.60 GHz 2-core, 4-wire silicon with the same GPU speed as above.

It remains to be seen how these processors compare to the AMD Raven Ridge, it will be interesting to see if the Intel L4 cache allows the manufacturer to exceed what AMD offers with its processors. Do you think Intel will outperform AMD with its Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 and L4 cache?
