Ios 11 reaches 76% of apple mobile devices

iOS 11, the current version of the operating system for iPhone and iPad released by Apple last September 2017, is already installed on 76% of devices, as the company itself has made public through the website of support from your developer app store.

The new figures revealed by the Cupertino company show the increase of 11 percentage points since last January 18, when iOS 11 was installed on 65% of devices, and 24 percentage points since November 6, when iOS 11 had a 52% presence on iPhone and iPad devices.

As we can see in the graph that we have on these lines, 19% of devices continue to use iOS 10, while only 5% continue to run iOS 9 or other earlier versions. These latest figures are probably due to the fact that many of these devices, being older, can no longer be updated to the latest version of iOS.

Despite the fact that the adoption rates of iOS 11 have been growing steadily, the truth is that the update rate has been markedly slower than iOS 10. In fact, from MacRumors they point out by way of example how in February 2017 iOS 10 had already been installed on almost 80 percent of devices.

In this regard, that 11 percent increase in the iOS 11 adoption rate experienced from January to April could be attributed to the release of iOS 11.2 in December and iOS 11.3 in March, both major updates that introduced key new features like Apple Pay.
