Seagate has been busy introducing its first NAS solid state drives these days, under the Ironwolf 110 series.

“NAS” hard drives or SSDs are typically those with rated durability or strength halfway between the customer and business segments. The Ironwolf 110 series has a resistance of 1 DWPD, and comes in capacities of up to 3.84 TB. These new units are backed by a 5 year warranty. In all models, the MTBF is calculated at 2 million hours, but the resistance (TBW) does vary according to the capacity of the unit. For example, the 3.84TB model has a 7000TB resistance and the 240GB model has a 438TB TBW. You can see the full specs of the series here.
Being '' NAS ', these units are designed to operate 24 hours a day. Although built into the 7mm thick, 2.5-inch form factor with a 6Gbps SATA interface, Seagate understands that many home / SOHO NAS devices only include 3.5-inch caddies. These units are likely to include a simple accessory that allows you to use them with 3.5-inch trays.

Available in 3.84TB, 1.92TB, 960GB, 480GB, and 240GB capacities, the Ironwolf 110 incorporates 3D TLC NAND flash memory. All variants are capable of sequential reads of up to 560 MB / s, and with the exception of the 240 GB variant that writes up to 345 MB / s, all others offer up to 535 MB / s of sequential write.
4K Random Access Read performance ranges from 85, 000 to 90, 000 IOPS for capacities from 960GB to 3.84TB, and from 55, 000 to 75, 000 IOPS for those from 240 to 480GB of capacity. For more information, go to the official Seagate site.
