Keep Out XGM22 technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

The Keep Out XGM22 monitor comes perfectly protected inside a cardboard box, it has a handle to transport the product in a more comfortable way, something that is appreciated, since it is a fairly large box. The box has a very good quality and full color print, in it we can see a great image of the monitor that already lets us glimpse its spectacular design. On the back, all its most important specifications are detailed in several languages, including Spanish.

We open the box and find the monitor and all the accessories perfectly arranged between two pieces of cork, in this way everything is very well protected so that it does not suffer any type of damage during transport, the brand has made sure that it reaches the end user's hands in the best possible condition.

We find the following bundle:

  • Keep Out XGM22 gaming monitor Detachable stand VGA cable Audio cable Power cord Documentation

First, we see the base, this is removable and fits very easily with the monitor, its design is very simple and does not allow any adjustment. To attach it to the monitor, we only have to put four screws, then we put the bezel back and the screws will not be seen at all.

We are now focusing our eyes on the Keep Out XGM22 monitor, this is based on a design that combines black and red colors, which have become the hallmark of gaming over time, without anyone knowing really why. It is a small monitor with dimensions of 489 mm x 42.3 mm x 288 mm, it mounts a 21.5-inch panel and its bezels are very thin, which makes it even smaller, thanks to this it will be ideal for users they don't have a lot of space and for multi-monitor setups. The aesthetic is quite attractive, something to which both the colors and the design without bezels contribute. We highlight that the structure of the monitor is aluminum, something that denotes the high quality of the product and the care that the brand has put.

Keep Out XGM22 mounts a 21.5-inch panel as we have said before, this reaches a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which translates into a good pixel density considering its size. It is a panel with viewing angles of 178º in both planes and a response time of 5 ms, something that has been possible due to the use of IPS technology, which offers high quality colors. The characteristics of this panel continue with a 1000: 1 contrast, a maximum brightness of 250 nits and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Brightness seems to be the main weak point of this panel, since a value less than 300 nits is considered quite low, in any case, it will be necessary to see how it behaves at the moment of truth.

The VESA 75 x 75 mounting bracket has been included on the back, which means that we can hang this monitor on a wall, or we can put a NUC or another compatible Mini PC on the back to save space.

Keep Out XGM22 includes video inputs in the form of HDMI, DVI and VGA and a 3.5 mm jack for headphones, in this aspect it is quite well served. It does not include a USB hub, something that is understood to be a very economical product. We highlight that the manufacturer has mounted two speakers with a power of 3W, quite fair, but remember once again that it is an economic product, at least they have put speakers, something that is appreciated.

Finally, we see the OSD menu, this includes all the typical functions on a monitor: adjusting brightness, contrast, color, blue light reduction, profiles for games, various modes of view and much more.

Final words and conclusion about Keep Out XGM22

Keep Out XGM22 has left us with excellent sensations, it is a very economical monitor but it has a very high build quality, its aluminum structure gives it great resistance and there is no cracking or movement when pressing the edges of the screen, something that does occur in other low-cost models. Something that we also liked a lot is that the power supply is integrated into the monitor itself, in this way we will only have to connect the power cable and we will not have any external transformer disturbing.

The assembly of the base is extremely simple, we will have to take the trouble to put a few screws, but in return it is tremendously robust and makes the monitor stand firmly on the table. Its design is quite attractive and follows the gaming trend of the rest of the product.

The image quality of the Keep Out XGM22 is very good, excellent for its price. Logically it is not the best IPS panel on the market but it works perfectly, the colors are good and the viewing angles too. The whites are quite pure, although they tend to have a slight yellow hue as in most mid and low range IPS. The brightness is more than enough to be able to enjoy the monitor without problems, you can think that 250 nits is little, but it has turned out to be more than enough. The OSD menu has a simple design and very easy to use, we can also put it in Spanish so that we will not get lost at any point.

What we liked the least is the quality of the speakers, something that was already to be expected since it is where more sacrifices are made in cheap monitors, even so they are more than enough for undemanding users with this aspect, and it is much better than not include them.

Keep Out XGM22 is on sale for an approximate price of 120 euros, very adjusted for what it offers.
