Microsoft's $ 400 surface would have already gone through the fcc
Table of contents:
Several weeks ago, it was reported that Microsoft is working on a Surface series tablet for a price of just $ 400, which would bring these devices closer to students and users who do not want to spend much. Finally, the device appears to have gone through the FCC this week.
The new $ 400 Surface would be closer to hitting the market after its stint at the FCC this week.
The information reveals a low-power charger, but not many other hardware details. Bloomberg previously reported that Microsoft plans to launch 10-inch Surface devices with a more rounded design and a USB-C port to charge the battery. Microsoft is also reported to be planning LTE versions of its smaller Surface tablet, along with cheaper keyboard covers, a stylus, and a mouse.

A cheaper Surface tablet is likely to appeal to consumers and students who don't want to pay for a bigger, more powerful version. Microsoft originally launched a cheaper and smaller Surface 3 tablet three years ago, targeting students, though it was eventually discontinued from sale.
Microsoft has not yet officially recognized this new Surface, and we don't know when it could be released. The devices don't normally appear on the FCC lists until they are tested and ready for launch, this could mean that Microsoft intends to offer this cheaper new Surface tablet before the return to school in September or in the holiday period.
