Samsung sales in 2018 will be lower than expected
Table of contents:
Samsung had set a goal of selling 350 million phones worldwide throughout 2018. But it seems that the Korean brand is not going to be able to reach this sales target. There are several factors so that this will not be possible. One of them is that the Galaxy S9 has not reached the sales expectations that had been deposited in it.
Samsung sales in 2018 will be lower than expected
So the brand is not going to have a year as good as they had originally thought. Partly due to the bad moment that its high range is going through in the market.
Samsung will sell less than expected
One of the keys is that the goal of 350 million was already too high for the company. Samsung's initial estimate was 320 million phones sold. But, when they saw that the Galaxy S9's reserves far exceeded those expected, they decided to increase this figure. And they set the goal of selling 350 million units.
Last year Samsung sold 319.8 million phones, a 3.3% increase from the previous year. But the growth in sales of the brand is being quite discreet, given the advancement of other firms in the market. So the new strategy appears to be focused on selling more.
At the moment, the Galaxy Note 9 will arrive in August, anticipating its launch, due to the low sales of the Galaxy S9. With this decision, the Korean firm hopes to boost sales of phones, which have fallen worldwide this year.
