It has been confirmed that AMD CEO Lisa Su will take command of the Radeon Technologies Group to the detriment of a Raja Koduri who will take a three-month break to re-lead the company in December.

Lisa Su will lead Radeon Technologies Group temporarily

Raja's decision is due to his desire to have more free time to spend with his family, many will think that this decision was made after the little success of Vega graphic architecture, but this is not the case. Vega has returned AMD to a professional sector that is seeing how graphics cards based on this architecture sell very well for their excellent price-performance ratio.

AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 Review in Spanish

Admittedly, the Radeon Technologies Group is not at its best and is being overshadowed by AMD's CPU division which has achieved unprecedented success with the launch of Ryzen processors based on the Zen architecture, not in vain the sales of AMD processors have surpassed Intel's in Germany after more than a decade.

We leave you the writing that Raja Koduri has presented:

Team Radeon Technologies Group, You haven't heard of me collectively in a while - a symptom not only of Vega's launch whirlwind, but simply the myriad of demands in my time since the formation of the Radeon Technologies Group. Looking back on this short period, it is an impressive sight. We have delivered 6 stra, all of you, for your unwavering focus, dedication and support over the past few months, and for helping us build something amazing. We are not done yet, and keep the momentum going!

Regards, Rajaight quarters of double-digit growth in charts, culminating in the launch of Vega and being back in high performance. What we have done with Vega is incomparable. At Vega, we hit the high-end gaming, professional jobs, and machine intelligence markets in no time. Vega (and Polaris!) Demand is fantastic, and the overall momentum of our graphics is strong.

Unbelievably, we as AMD also managed to spectacularly break into the high-performance CPU segments this year. We are all exceptionally proud of Ryzen, Epyc, and Threadripper. The world of computing is no longer the same and everyone is cheering for AMD. Congratulations and thanks to those of you at Radeon Technologies Group who helped view these products through. The high-performance computing market is on an explosive growth path fueled by machine intelligence, visual cloud, blockchain, and other exciting new workloads. Our vision of immersive and instinctive computing is within reach. As we enter 2018, I will be shifting my focus more towards architecture and the realization of this vision and the rebalancing of my operational responsibilities.

At the beginning of the year I warned that Vega would be difficult. At that time, some people did not believe me. Now many of you understand what I said. Vega was very difficult for many, and my sincere thanks to all of you who endured Vega's journey with me. Vega was personally hard on me too and I used a lot of family credits during this trip. I have decided to take a break in the fourth quarter to spend time with my family. I've been contemplating this for a while and there was never a good time to do this. Lisa and I agreed that Q4 is better than 2018, before the next wave of product enthusiasm. Lisa will act as leader of the Radeon Technologies Group during her absence. My sincere thanks to Lisa and the rest of the AET for supporting me in this decision and agreeing to receive additional work during my absence.

I am looking to start my free time on September 25 and return in December.

Thank you all, for your unwavering focus, dedication, and support over the past few months, and for helping us build something amazing. We are not done yet, and keep the momentum going!

Best regards, Raja
