We know what you are thinking: here it seems that we only analyze gaming mice, huh? Well, generally yes, but this time is different! Logitech brings us the MX Master 3, a mouse designed for designers. Let's see it!
Logitech MX Master 3 Unboxing
Initially the box receives us with a fine cardboard satin cover. On its cover we are shown the MX Master 3 accompanied by the Mag Speed specification for an ultra fast scroll speed.
We are facing a wireless mouse prepared for the most advanced tasks, with both USB and Bluetooth connection.
On the back of the box we are shown compatibility with both Windows and Mac and Linux. We also have details describing its four most notable characteristics:
- Long hours of comfort: Work in comfort with a perfectly sculpted shape and ideal position for thumb controls. Accelerate the speed of your work: work faster with predefined profiles and applications and numerous customization options. It flows through several computers: it exchanges text, images and files between computers: it simply copies in one and pastes in the other. Precise tracking on any surface: thanks to the 4000DPI Darkfiel sensor we can even work on glass.
Once we remove this case we find a box type box with the name of the MX series Logitech screen printed with resin.
The total content of the box is summarized in:

Logitech MX Master 3 Design
The MX Master 3 presents a solid design, with a fine assembly in which we can see few areas of union. Although the edition that we bring you for the review is graphite color, you can also find the mid gray model available.
In their upper part, M1 and M1 are made up of individual pieces, while the Scroll and the mode change switch are embedded in the central body.
- This machined steel scroll rolls rapidly to free spin when it reaches a certain speed. With the manual shift button we can click to toggle between gradual spin and free spin modes.
On the left side, on the other hand, we have a thumb flap in which that smooth ribbed roughness that originates from the hump is written, writing a slight curve.
At this point we can see three factors: the side scroll wheel, two action buttons and an informative LED.
Also on the fin itself is a third tactile switch, indicated by a slight pill-like relief.
It should be noted that the entire central piece is indeed plastic in its structure although the top cover has a slightly grainy rubber feel.
The surface on the right is instead smooth and button-free, fitting comfortably in the palm of our hand.
If we turn it around, the base has a protective sticker that informs us about the connection options as well as the possibility of synchronizing the mouse with a maximum of three monitors using the Logitech Options software.
When removing the sticker, the design of the base is finally revealed. Here we can see a total of four surfers.
Meanwhile, in the front area is the USB Type-C port for the charging cable.
On connectivity, turning on the MX Master 3 automatically activates its wireless connection and also via Bluetooth. The bottom of the slide switch is red and green depending on your activity.
Below, after the sensor, we can see a last switch, the one that allows us to establish interaction between three different devices using the Logitech Options software mentioned above.
Logitech MX Master 3 connectivity
Ideally, the MX Master 3 is designed for us to use through its USB type A receiver, although it is also prepared for low-power Bluetooth.
This receiver transmits data at 2.4 GHz and has a standard format. It has a serigraphed icon in red to indicate its upper face as well as the Logi logo on the edge.
As a wireless mouse, the MX Master 3 is highly energy efficient. With its USB Type-C it is capable of charging in one minute for three hours of use, while a 100% charge guarantees about seventy days of use.
This is due to its rechargeable Li-Po battery (500 mAh), although the percentage of battery life depends on the use and the devices.Ergonomics
Ergonomically the MX Master 3 has an interesting shape given that its structure resembles in part that of a vertical mouse. This is given by its hump: higher on the left and depressed to the right. Anatomically, the palm of our hand is then slightly tilted, which is less sensitive to the tendons and tends to generate less postural fatigue.
Regarding the grip, the MX Master 3 is a mouse clearly thought for a palmar posture allowing us to comfortably access the function buttons.
Sensitivity, acceleration and DPI test
The MX Master 3 is a type of mouse that with a maximum DPI of 4000 points allows us a fairly high sensitivity and fluidity. This joins the factor of having a Darkfield sensor. This relies on the smallest details to create a micro-map of the surface to enable even the most precise glass.
Generally we tend to be somewhat reluctant with laser sensors given its tendency to jittering, although we must say that we have not noticed this problem in the MX Master 3.
The stroke in the speed test shows a lot of fluidity for fast movements while it is quite stable for slow gestures.
software
We come here to talk about Logitech Options, the software available to regulate the various options that the MX Master 3 can offer us.
When we installed the program for the first time, before accessing the main menu it introduces us to the functions of each of the main buttons of the mouse itself.
Of special interest is the possibility of a specific configuration for each application. This program point offers dedicated commands for programs like:
- Photoshop Word Excel Power Point Google Chrome Microsoft Explorer
We finally reached the menu, which consists of three categories:
- Mouse: allows us to set functions for each button Point and move: we set the pointer speed, wheel sensitivity, SmartShift and directions. Flow: allows you to switch between computers by moving the cursor from one end of the screen to the other. For this we would need to download and install Logitech Options on both computers and link them together following the steps in the tutorial.

Final words and conclusions about Logitech MX Master 3
Here we are before a mouse thought and designed for a specific audience in mind: the creators of digital content. Whether it's for web designers, graphics, animators, modeling, or editing, the mere fact that your software features support and specific commands for editing applications is itself a statement of intent.
The type of sensor it has, the Darkfield, makes the Logitech MX Master a versatile mouse for all types of surfaces. Its MagSpeed electromagnetic scroll wheel button is precise and quiet. The machined steel frame gives it a tactile feel and enough weight to offer inertia that is felt but not heard.
We recommend reading: Best mice on the market.
The option of using the same mouse for up to three computers not only brings versatility, but also freedom of action. It is true that we will need the Bluetooth software and connection in addition to the nano USB receiver, but when we work in a multi-team environment it is more than a positive factor.
Finally, it is necessary to comment on the issue of autonomy and how it not only has a long duration but the loading speed is exceptionally fast. As an addition, for the most impatient there is the possibility of using it with cable while charging.
It is an ergonomic, solid mouse, of good design and with the possibility of saving our local settings in the Logitech Options cloud through our personal account.
The Logitech MX Master 3 is priced at € 115.00. It is obviously a high-end professional mouse for designers prepared to get the most out of all your buttons. Therefore, it is a specialized working mouse, so from Professional Review what we recommend is that you evaluate the functions that you can obtain from it before purchasing it.
