The cpus core i9 will reach socket lga1151, the core i9 appears

Intel will update its main platform with Z390 motherboards very soon and there is some very fresh new information coming out in the last few hours. The Core i9 chips will finally make the leap to the mass public, with new models supporting the LGA1151 socket, used by current Z370 motherboards and the future Z390.

Hints emerge on the Intel Core i9-9900K

Intel is bringing its Core i9 brand, which currently works only on LGA2066 sockets , to the conventional desktop platform. This was something that was going to happen hopelessly. Intel had already deployed its Core i9s on laptops with the Core i9-8950HK.

This would be the naming scheme for the Z390's updated main alignment:

• Intel Core i9-9900K (8 cores / 16 threads) Intel Core i7-9700K (6 cores / 12 threads) Intel Core i5-9600K (6 cores / 6 threads)

Although we do not yet have the exact specifications of these new processors, it is expected that the i9 will have a greater number of cores compared to the i7 model. The i9-9900K is rumored to be an 8-core, 16-wire piece to compete with AMD's Ryzen processors. This would make sense not only from a marketing point of view, but also from a positioning point of view, since the company does not have an 8-core processor right now that can come face to face with AMD Ryzen's main line., which has a maximum of 8 cores.

This would also mean that the i7 and i5 CPUs would have 6 cores / 12 threads and 6 cores / 6 threads without hyperthreading respectively, representing the first time that the Intel mainline does not have a 4 core chip. Regarding the i3, so far, nothing is known about new models in sight, although we do not doubt that finally new variants will end up coming out.
