AMD Ryzen processors for laptops and 2-in-1 systems confirmed

According to Papermaster's statement, the new mobile CPUs in the AMD Ryzen range will incorporate Zen cores and, for the first time, Vega graphics cores built into the processor.

As for performance, thanks to the combination of Zen and Vega, the new AMD APU will be able to deliver up to 50% higher processing performance and up to 40% higher graphics performance, in addition to having the ability to reach up to 50 % higher energy efficiency compared to the company's seventh-generation APUs.

While there are no more exact details for now, more will surely come as we get closer to launch.

AMD Zen 2 and Zen 3

In other news, during the same event AMD also confirmed its future plans for Zen architecture, in a roadmap where the company reveals that in 2018 it will launch the new Zen 2 processors based on a 7nm process and that they will be used in the Pinnacle Ridge product range.

The following year, in 2019, Zen 2 processors will be replaced by Zen 3, which will bring increased performance, IPC gain and will feature an improved version of the 7nm process, known as 7nm +. Click here to see more information.
