Kim Dotcom will reload with Megaupload 2.0 in January
Megaupload creator Kim Dotcom has stated that he intends to reload with Megaupload 2.0, the new version that claims to be even better than the now defunct Megaupload. The premiere of the new platform would take place next January, more specifically on the 20th.
Kim Dotcom already created Mega in 2013, this platform has been quite successful although it is quite far from what Megaupload once was. Dotcom subsequently left the management of Mega due to certain disagreements and promising that he would return with better service. Kim Dotcom is currently in New Zealand after appealing his extradition to the United States and with a hearing pending in August.
The new Megaupload 2.0 will offer a maximum of 100 GB of storage for free and with encryption to protect users. None of the servers of the new portal will be located in the United States so that the same problem does not occur with the original platform. Dotcom has ensured that the active accounts of the old Megaupload will be transferred to the new service.
