Microsoft Surface Pro is one of the most versatile products on the market, offering excellent performance and features in a 2-in-1 convertible. The company has announced the new Surface Pro 2017 to set the bar even higher.

Microsoft Surface Pro 2017: features, availability and price

Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 is the new bet of those from Redmond to continue with its leadership in the convertible sector. This new version is built with a more rounded design and with hinges that have been designed to be extremely quiet. Hinges that allow the device to open up to 165º in what is called “Studio Mode” and that allows the tablet to be supported on any surface.

Microsoft is still betting on a 12.3-inch 3: 2 screen with Pixel Sense technology and a pixel density of 267 ppi for impressive image quality. This screen will move perfectly thanks to the power of the Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake processors or the more modest Core M3. The latter have the advantage of not requiring a fan as in the case of the former, despite this the cooling system has been improved to offer a maximum noise of only 18 dBa. The move to more efficient hardware has allowed Microsoft to improve energy efficiency by 50% compared to the Surface Pro 4, this new version is able to keep working for up to 13 hours without going through the plug.

As for the software, we have Windows 10 Pro so we will have access to all applications without any limitation. We got to the connectivity section and it is important to note that the USB Type-C port has been dispensed with, in total we find a USB 3.0, microSD card reader, Mini DisplayPort, case / keyboard port and Surface Connect for the dock.

What can't you do with the new Windows 10 S?

It is time to talk about the new Surface Pen, it comes with a design very similar to the previous ones and is capable of detecting up to 4, 096 pressure points with a delay of only 21 ms, half the delay of the Apple Pen. This new pen stands out for detecting up to 4, 096 pressure levels and above all for offering a minimum delay of 21 ms from when we started making strokes until the screen recognized them and displayed them. That delay allows, they assure in Microsoft, to reduce in half the response time with respect to that offered by the Apple Pen of the iPad Pro. These new pens are compatible with Surface Pro 4. The bad thing is that it is not included so we will have to buy it separately.

The new Surface Pro will be available on June 15 for a starting price of 949 euros for the basic model, the keyboard covers (Type Cover) will cost $ 129 and the Surface Pen $ 99.
