Microsoft creates laboratory of 5000 engineers to promote the ia

Microsoft recently formed a new laboratory called Microsoft AI and Research Group that was dedicated exclusively to the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within Microsoft products and services, such as Cortana.

The creation of this laboratory by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is impressive considering the group is made up of 5, 000 scientists and engineers, who will be tasked with integrating this technology into Microsoft products and services in the future. This boost to Artificial Intelligence will benefit Cortana, Bing, robotics and environmental computing products.

According to Microsoft, they seek to "democratize artificial intelligence for each person and each organization, making it more accessible and valuable and allowing new ways to help solve the toughest challenges in society . " Microsoft AI and Research Group will be divided into four phases: agents, applications, services and infrastructure:

Agents: It will improve the relationship between computers and people, through assistants like Cortana.

Applications: All Microsoft applications must have Artificial Intelligence integrated. From Skype to Office 365.

Services: Microsoft will seek to develop in the best possible way all its services with Artificial Intelligence.

Infrastructure: According to the managers' words, it will make the most powerful computer in the world, integrated with Artificial Intelligence.

Although no 'project' has been announced yet (it was created very recently) surely in the coming months we will be learning about the advances in this field and how it will influence the voice assistant Cortana, who seems to be the banner of this technology driven by Microsoft.
