MSI has sent us one of the most interesting “all-in-one computers” of this year 2016. It is the MSI Gaming 24 6QE 4K with a 24 ″ inch screen with UHD (4K) resolution, i7 Skylake processor, 16GB of RAM and an ideal aesthetic for the most enthusiastic PC.

Don't miss our review!

We are grateful for the transfer of the product to colleagues at MSI Ibérica:

MSI Gaming 24 6QE 4K

We find a robust and large cardboard box. That on its cover we see an image of the All-in-One MSI GAMING 24 6QE 4K. As relevant data we find it on one of the sides that details the characteristics of the model that MSI has sent us.

Once we open the box we find excellent protection: rubber and plastic. Inside it houses:

  • All in One MSI GAMING 24 6QE 4K. Documentation. CD with drivers and software. Power cable 230W power adapter.

The MSI GAMING 24 6QE 4K has dimensions of 58.3x 43.43 x 3.2 cm (Width x Depth x Height) and a weight of 10.42 kg. As you can see in the image, it has a minimalist design and is very pleasing to the eye.

MSI has opted in this new series for a 23.6 ″ LED screen with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 px, that is to say 4K with Anti-Flicker technology and Less Blue Light that significantly improves viewing angles.

To make video conferences with the MSI GAMING 24 6QE 4K they have opted for a 2MP webcam with Full HD resolution and a sound system signed by Nahimic Audio Enhancer.

On the left side it features the power buttons, screen adjustment, USB 3.0 connections and an all-in-one card reader (SD / MMC / MS).

While on the right side we have a small slim size Super Multi / Blu-Ray DVD recorder (the latter optional).

We are in the back and we did not find any details of relevance. Simply highlight the hidden connections: power, HDMI and USB 3.0 that complement the equipment.

MSI relies on one of the most efficient 6th generation Intel processors, the 4-core, 8-thread i7-6700HQ with a 3.4ghz speed and 6MB of 64-bit cache. It is complemented by 16GB of DDR4 SODIMM memory in two 8GB modules at a speed of 2133 mhz and the HM170 chipset that does not allow us to overclock at the moment.

In the graphic section, it has the versatile 4GB GDDR5 GTX960 that will make us enjoy all games at medium and high quality with Full HD resolution (1080p). When the computer is on the desktop, it uses the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 graphics card, which is the processor. Reducing the consumption of the equipment and significantly improving temperatures.

Regarding the storage of the MSI GAMING 24 6QE 4K, it has a 2TB 5400 RPM SATA hard drive and a SSD disk with a 256GB M.2 interface with NVMe technology, giving dizzying read / write dimensions.

Finally, highlight the integrated network card signed by the Killer E2400 chipset, a Wifi AC3165 card from Intel and the Bluetooth 4.1 connection.

software

As we have seen during all this time in the MSI Gaming series, all the equipment comes equipped with the Gaming Center assistant that allows us to monitor the system, configure the front led system, configure the device, the ScenaMAX and EZ application- SWAP.

Without forgetting the BurnRecovery applications to restore the system to factory settings and network management with Killer Network.

Benchmark

We have obtained the expected results for an i7-6700HQ with 653 cb on Cinebench R15. A team capable of making us enjoy playing how it can help us in video and photography editing.

Although the screen has 3840 x 2160 UHD (4K) resolution, we do not have the graphic power to move a game smoothly. One of the great advantages in this resolution is that playing in Full HD (1920 x 1080p) is a success, since the rescaling is excellent and with a 4GB GTX 960M it is more than enough to enjoy any game. Another advantage is that at work we can enjoy the native resolution, although 24 inches is possibly a bit scarce.

WE RECOMMEND YOU MSI announces the X299 XPOWER Gaming AC motherboard

The decision to choose high details instead of Ultra is simply for gameplay. In ultra graphics it is not capable of moving the games with a certain fluidity (it stayed in the tests in less than 30 FPS), while in high it is capable of moving any game in a fluid way and a slightly more realistic analysis to the user than decide to buy it. We have obtained in titles like Crysis 3 55 FPS and in Battlefield 4 79 FPS on average.

SSD disk tests

As we have seen during the analysis, it incorporates a 256GB SSD disk with NVMe technology. As we can see, it has a reading of authentic madness: 2180 MB / s and a writing of 1278 MB / s.

Final words and conclusion

MSI has done a great job with the MSI GAMING 24 6QE 4K by incorporating state-of-the-art components: i7-6700HQ processor, 16GB SODIMM DDR4 memory, GTX 960M graphics card, 256GB SSD NVMe disk plus a 2TB disk with 5400 RPM for internal storage.

A few days ago we were already talking about the new 24 ”MSI Gaming series in all-in-one equipment and the result in our tests has been excellent. We really have the components of a Gaming laptop with a 24 ″ monitor without hardly noticing its thickness. The work that MSI has done in this new design is amazing.

Its arrival in Spain is expected in these next weeks with a price that will oscillate 1875 euros according to its technical characteristics.
