Conventional and general public SSDs are getting faster. Mushkin announced the “PILOT-E” NVMe M.2 SSD series, which supports high-speed data transfer of up to 3, 500 MB / sec.

The M.2 unit uses a Silicon Motion controller "SM2262EN" that supports 8 NAND channels. The connection interface is PCI-Express3.0 (x4) and the form factor is M.2 2280. Mushkin releases three models of this drive with 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB models.
The PILOT-E series makes use of 3D NAND flash TLC memory and the speeds are amazing. The 500GB model achieves a sequential read speed of 3, 500MB / sec, 2, 300MB / sec write, 344, 400IOPS random read, 343, 000IOPS write, and 350TB write resistance. The 1 TB model is 3, 500 MB / sec, 331, 000 IOPS, 353, 000 IOPS, and the resistance increases to 650 TB. Finally, the 2TB model is 3, 500MB / sec read, 339, 000 IOPS, 358, 000 IOPS, and 1, 300TB stamina.
Supported features include LDPC ECC, end-to-end protection, global wear leveling, SLC cache, static data update, HMB, AES256bit encryption, etc. The body size is 22mm wide, 80mm long, 3.8mm thick and weighs only 7g. The MTBF is 1.5 million hours and the product warranty is 3 years.

However, the price seems to be too expensive, 200 euros for the 1 TB model and 309 for the 2 TB one. We will keep you informed.
