Nfortec Orion technical characteristics
Unboxing and design
Nfortec Orion is presented inside a large neutral colored cardboard box, inside which the chassis is hidden, covered by a plastic bag to protect its delicate surface and prevent scratches. A cork frame is responsible for accommodating the chassis to prevent it from moving. Next to the chassis we find a plastic bag with all the screws necessary for mounting the equipment.
Nfortec Orion is an ATX chassis that reaches dimensions of 480 x 105 x 410 mm with a low weight of 4.7 Kg. It is a simple chassis, without any type of tempered glass window and that is something that shows in the weight. The manufacturer has used steel for the general construction of the chassis.
The front is striking for the inclusion of a 5.25-inch bay, something that is increasingly difficult to see, and that will allow us to use an optical drive or another type of device that is based on this format.
The bundle is made up of
- Nfortec Orion chassis. Hardware and speaker for the system.
The front is made of micro-perforated metal mesh, something that will allow greater air intake to improve cooling, while preventing dirt from entering.
Despite not including tempered glass, if we see a side window of acrylic material, the window is not full-format, but it will allow us to see the interior of the equipment well enough to enjoy the lighting of the components.
While the other cover has a projection that allows to better hide the wiring.
In the upper area we see a dust filter, under which we can mount two 120 mm fans to improve air flow.
The filter is magnetic, which means that we can remove it in a very simple way to facilitate cleaning.
Also in this upper area we see the I / O panel, with two USB 2.0 ports, a USB 3.0 port and the 3.5 mm connectors for audio and micro.
At the back we see the seven expansion slots, the included 120mm fan area and the power supply area at the bottom, as it should be for proper cooling.
Nfortec Orion includes four legs in the lower area, in addition to the dust filter for the power supply.
Interior and assembly
We removed the two side panels and we can already see well everything that is hidden inside the Nfortec Orion. First, we find the installation area of the motherboard, this chassis is compatible with Min ITX, Micro ATX and ATX models , offering good versatility to users.
This chassis offers us space for a CPU heatsink up to 160 mm high and graphics cards up to 340 mm, we should not have problems in either case, but it will limit us when using the most advanced models.
The rear area of the motherboard will offer us enough space, to manage the wiring in a correct way, something that will allow us to achieve a very professional assembly and that is appreciated. On the front it offers us space to put a maximum of three 120 mm fans or a 360/240/120 mm radiator, thus offering good possibilities to lovers of liquid cooling.
In the upper area we are going to have a difficult time putting a radiator, since the space left until the motherboard is quite small, it will be best to put fans in this area.
A notable aspect is that the power supply is faired, something that few economic chassis offer, and can also place a pair of fans on the fairing itself. Behind the tray for the motherboard we find some bays for hard drives, in this case we can put a maximum of three 2.5-inch drives, two in this area and the third at the base of the chassis.
Nfortec Orion also allows us to put three 3.5-inch hard drives in the lower area, which will be somewhat difficult to mount if we have the power supply mounted. On the power supply, this will be fully faired and isolated from the rest of the chassis, something ideal to prevent heat from affecting the components. Finally, we see the cables for buttons, LEDs, USB headers and audio.
We leave you an example of assembly. The truth is that it was quite easy and we have not had major problems. We had read many problems through various websites, but in our case everything was perfect.
Final words and conclusion about Nfortec Orion
The Nfortec Orion is an economical chassis that allows you to install mid / high-end components without losing much aesthetics. Although its design is quite "classic" it gives that touch of elegance without being influenced by an RGB system.
We recommend reading the best boxes on the market
We have installed a high configuration with a Ryzen 5 2600X, X470 motherboard, 16 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card. It is true that the temperatures are not very good, but it is because it does not have a fan on the front. Acquiring or reusing a 12 cm one, we will solve this problem.
This box we see it more focused on teams with AMD Ryzen 3, Intel Core i3 or APU. ? Its price in online stores ranges from 35 euros, we think it is a very good alternative. Although for just 10-15 euros we have a very competitive chassis and with better materials.

A very cheap chassis that allows you to install medium and high-end components. Cooling is its minus point, but it gets better with a 120mm fan on the front.
