Nomu M6 is a new terminal that comes to revolutionize ruggedized smarpthones, this new proposal wants to demonstrate that it is possible to offer a very resistant product with an attractive appearance and a fairly light weight. Inside it hides a quad-core processor with a 3000 mAh battery that should give a good autonomy. All this under an IP68 certificate so you can take it to the pool without problems.
First of all, we are grateful to Nomu for the trust placed in handing over the product to us for analysis.
Nomu M6 technical characteristics
Unboxing and design
Nomu has opted for a fairly simple case for his M6, the design is simple with a predominance of white with the brand's logo as the only element to highlight. On the back it details its most important characteristics. Once we open the box we find the Nomu M6 perfectly accommodated and covered by a plastic bag to avoid scratches during transport. Next to the smartphone we see the documentation, a USB charging cable and a 5V2A wall adapter.
Construction and display
Once seen the box and its contents we are going to look at the device itself, the Nomu M6 is the thinnest rugged smartphone of the brand, it is a terminal that wants to demonstrate that this type of mobile can look attractive, something that already We can tell you that they have succeeded perfectly.
The Nomu M6 chassis is built by combining polycarbonate with metal, the terminal reaches dimensions of 143.8 mm x 73.4 mm x 10.3 mm and weighs 165 grams. As we can see it is quite compact to be a rough one and the weight is not too high either. Its design is quite stylized, although the bezels are more bulky than we are used to seeing, although they make sense since they help absorb energy in the event of an impact to reduce the chances of the terminal being damaged.
The volume and power buttons have been placed on the right side, while on the left side we find the card tray, which allows you to mount two Mano SIN or a Nano SIM + a MicroSD of up to 64 GB to expand internal storage.
At the top the 3.5 mm headphone jack has been placed and at the bottom the MicroUSB port to charge the battery, both come with two rubber caps to prevent the entry of water, so we will have to make sure that they are well closed before putting the terminal in the water.
Nomu M6 offers a 5-inch screen, this one has IPS technology and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, these characteristics make the image quality quite good, the resolution could be higher, but being a good quality panel does not it's a problem. This display features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective laminate, increasing resistance to scratches and drops. The screen occupies 65% of the surface of the front, a figure that may seem low but that is good enough to be rough.
At the top we find the front camera, the speaker and the sensors. Something to highlight about the Nomu M6 is that it includes Face ID technology, something that will allow us to unlock the terminal with our face, offering superior security to classic passwords. It is a great thing that this technology has been implemented in a device with a cheap sale price like this.
The back of the Nomu M6 looks spectacular, it has a mirrored finish that gives it a premium aesthetic and it seems that we are dealing with a much more expensive smarpthone. At the top we see the rear camera next to the LED flash and the manufacturer's logo.
Hardware, performance and battery
We are already focused on the technical specifications of this Nomu M6, first of all, we highlight its MediaTek MTK6737T quad-core Cortex A53 processor at an operating frequency of 1.5 GHz, this is a processor that stands out for offering great energy efficiency. Accompanying the processor we find 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage expandable through a microSD of up to 64 GB. This hardware has been perfectly capable of moving demanding games like Asphalt 8: Airborne smoothly.
The battery offers a capacity of 3, 000 mAh, in addition, it has 5V2A fast charge so that we have the smartphone always ready to leave the house. It is a fairly generous capacity if we take into account the size and resolution of the screen and the processor, this makes the autonomy quite good with more than five hours of screen in a day and a half of use.
Very basic cameras but according to its range
As for the photographic section, the NOMU M6 includes a rear camera with a Samsung 13 sensor and a 5-megapixel front camera. The photos show us that it is not the strong point, Nomu has had to make sacrifices to offer a product with a competitive price, and the cameras have been one of them. In very good light conditions we will be able to take some pretty decent photos, but once the conditions start to get worse the cameras suffer a lot and the image quality plummets.

Final words and conclusion about Nomu M6
Nomu M6 is a great alternative for users who are looking for a very resistant smarpthone, but with good features and do not want to give up an attractive design. This Chinese brand proves once again that roughs are its specialty and that it is capable of innovating better than anyone in this field.
The terminal works very well, with an operating system that moves wonderfully and has not shown forced closings or strange behaviors, without a doubt, betting on Android 7 stock has been a success. We would have liked to see the latest version of this operating system, but we understand that the manufacturer has decided to put stability and security above being up to date. Android Nougat really offers us everything we need and there should be no problem. We highlight that during the time we have been using it, we have received a software update via OTA, so it seems that the manufacturer is going to give good support.
The performance of the device is quite good, we must bear in mind that its price is quite tight so you cannot ask for much more. Its quad-core processor will even allow us to play almost all of the games on the Google Play Store with very good quality and a very respectable framerate. The great weak point of the terminal are its cameras, something that was already to be expected. They will help us to make a specific capture, and little else.
If you are looking for a rugged smarphone, with an attractive design and you do not want to spend a lot of money, the Nomu M6 is an excellent option from approximately 130 euros. It will go on sale over the next few weeks.
