New evidence confirms amd's superiority at vulkan
Table of contents:
Last weekend came the compatibility of the Doom game with the new low-level API Vulkan successor to OpenGl. The first tests already showed that AMD feels much better than Nvidia and new tests once again demonstrate the superiority on the part of Sunnyvale's.
AMD is able to make a great profit by operating under the Vulkan API
Research from ComputerBase.de shows that AMD graphics cards are capable of great performance benefits by operating under Vulkan. For a simple change from OpenGl to the new low-level API, the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X is capable of being 25% faster than the GeForce GTX 1070 under 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, a great step forward considering that: under OpenGl the AMD card is 15% slower than the Nvidia solution. Running on Vulkan the Radeon R9 Fury X is able to improve its performance by 52% which is really impressive
The other AMD cards also get a great benefit from the new API, without going any further, the Radeon RX 480 goes from 56 fps in OpenGl to a very respectable 72 fps under Vulkan, with this it is able to catch up almost to the GeForce GTX 980Ti offering 84 fps. All this in the demanding 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.
