The famous English-speaking site Hardocp has been the first to post a review of the RTX 2070 before it launched on October 17. The results of the analysis confirm the information that we detailed earlier in an article here, the RTX 2070 is superior to the GTX 1080.
RTX 2070 would be 13% faster than GTX 1080
Performance tests were done with several current games, as usual, those that allow you to take advantage of the full power of these graphics cards. An RX Vega 64 was also added to the comparison, which is the least powerful option of the three.
The games chosen for testing were Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Far Cry 5, Kingdome Core, Wolfenstein II, Mass Effect Andromeda, Gears of War 4, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, and Battlefield 1.
The results in Hardocp
The equipment used was an i7-7700K @ 5 GHz, the Aorus Z270X motherboard and 16GB of memory.
The performance difference across all games was 13% in favor of the RTX 2070, the new Turing graphics card was superior in all tests. Where the most differences were seen were: + 16% in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, + 13% in Kingdom Come, + 17% in Wolfenstein II, + 18% in Gears of War 4 and more + 19% in Deus Ex.
This performance difference is very interesting, but of course, there is also a price difference. The RTX 2070 costs roughly 130 euros more than the GTX 1080 right now, so it loses some of its charm. The positive is that the GTX 1080 will surely continue to drop in price, although it does not have Ray Tracing or DLSS technology.
