The last one comes from the state of New Mexico in the United States. This is a lawsuit that refers to the collection of private data from minors.

In this case, it is a demand for the educational programs and services that the firm offers, which would have different purposes than the initial ones.

According to the lawsuit, Google is accused of making use of these educational programs and services, in many cases designed for schools and teachers, of being a means with which to spy on children and thus obtain personal information about them. This initiative of the firm was initially a plan for children with limited resources to have access to education.

Although the company has wanted to keep up with these accusations, saying that it is precisely the schools that have full control over privacy. So they have control over the data and thus prevent someone from having access to it.

The problem in the United States is that each state has its own privacy laws, as is the case now in New Mexico. So Google could face a hefty fine in this case, should that lawsuit prosper. We will see if this finally happens or not.
