New Chinese tariffs

China and the United States are mired in a "trade war" where the imposition of mutual tariffs is the order of the day. Now, we have known that this situation could affect the price of hardware, even in Europe, with an increase of 25%.

The US imposes a list of tariffs that would cause the price of hardware to rise

The United States has imposed 25% tariffs on imports of a large number of products into China, with a list of affected products being published.

A user of a forum consulted this list and saw that it included "integrated circuits: processors and controllers, memories, amplifiers, others, parts of integrated circuits and micro-assemblies ", which could include a good part of the Hardware products.

Of course, this measure would be especially problematic for US consumers, who could see the price of various components greatly increase and seem somewhat more distant for Europeans and Latin Americans.

However, keep in mind that many companies use warehouses in the US to distribute products to other regions. In other words, they manufacture their PCBs in China and then send them to a distribution center in the US that also reaches Europe and Latin America. This could imply the payment of these tariffs but it is a tricky issue for which we will have to wait before seeing what it translates into.

This is standard practice with manufacturers like Intel or NVIDIA, and others like (that we know of) Corsair, there are probably measures that companies can take to avoid these types of tariffs and not have to raise the price of products.

We will see what happens in the end because it is not the thing to see further price rises, as the 'crisis' of RAM memory would worsen, and would slow down the healthy situation of the SSD market, for example.
