A Turing- based GeForce GTX 1170 graphics card has allegedly leaked and shows absolutely monstrous performance, beating the current GTX 1080 Ti.

NVIDIA GTX 1170 reveals its performance in a new leak

Just over two months ago we released the preliminary specs and expected performance of the NVIDIA GTX 1170 based on rumors and leaks at the time, where parity was already seen against the GTX 1080 Ti. A new leak seems to be confirming that it is even superior in performance.

The GTX 1170 supposedly has a 256-bit memory interface paired with a 16 GB GDDR6 memory and will operate at a huge clock speed of 2.5 GHz, much higher than what we can see in the Pascal and Volta series, making it the highest-speed graphics card we've seen to date.

The alleged benchmark captured

The card reportedly scored 29, 752 graphics points on 3DMark FireStrike, putting it ahead of NVIDIA's GTX 1080 Ti and significantly ahead of AMD's RX Vega 64. Based on these figures, we are facing a card that is no less than 65% faster than the GTX 1070 and no less than 38% faster than the GTX 1080.

However, we must take this filtration very carefully. The fact that what we are looking at is a photograph of a screen rather than an actual screenshot or even better an entry in the 3DMark database makes this "alleged" leak suspicious and could be false, so we will always talk in potential.

All said, we expect great things from NVIDIA's upcoming Turing GPUs, and we wouldn't be surprised if the next GTX 1170, or whatever you call it NVIDIA, can provide similar or superior performance to the aforementioned GTX 1080 Ti or similar. We will know for sure very soon.
