Nzxt h400i review in Spanish (complete analysis)

We continue our collaboration with the manufacturer NZXT, this time they have sent us their NZXT H400i chassis that promises to delight the most foodies. It is a Micro-ATX tower that offers us a large tempered glass window together with an RGB lighting system, all without forgetting its spectacular design and the high quality that characterize the products of this brand.

Unboxing and design

NZXT has packed the chassis in a large cardboard box, the design of this box is quite simple with the blue and white colors, the box shows us a photo of the chassis and some of its most important features on the sides.

We open the box and see that the interior has been really cared for, since NZXT has accommodated the product with cork pieces to prevent it from moving during transport, the chassis has also been covered with a plastic bag for greater protection of its delicate surface.

Next to the chassis we find the following bundle:

Instruction manual and quick guide. All the accessories necessary for mounting the equipment inside. One RGB LED strip.

We go to see all the details and secrets of this beautiful chassis. NZXT H400i is built in a Micro-ATX format, which makes it a fairly compact chassis with dimensions of 421 mm x 417 mm x 210 mm and a weight of 7.6 Kg. For its manufacture, SECC steel, plastic has been used. very good quality and tempered glass.

NZXT H400i is based on a simple design but at the same time it is really beautiful, as we can see, a tempered glass window has been included that occupies the entire side, which makes its appearance spectacular.

From this window we can enjoy the lighting of all the components that we will mount inside the chassis. This window is fastened with four thumb screws, which include a rubber gasket to prevent damage to the glass.

The front panel has a truly minimalist design, as it is simply a steel plate in which we see nothing beyond the logo of the brand.

Now we come to the top of the NZXT H400i, the first thing we see is the I / O panel with the power button, two USB 3.0 ports, a mini jack connector for headphones and another for the microphone. In this part there is also a magnetic dust filter to protect the fans that will be placed in this area.

At the back we find the installation area of the power supply at the bottom, as it should be in a good high-end chassis. We also see the expansion slots, and the rear fan, this is placed on rails that allow several its position so that it adjusts to the best possible depending on the CPU heatsink that we have mounted, all a detail that is appreciated.

Finally, the lower part has an anti-dust filter for the power supply, and rubber feet to absorb vibrations and that are not transmitted to the floor or the desk. We do not forget the four mounting holes for a 3.5-inch hard drive in the lower area, something that we will see later in more detail.

Interior and assembly

Once seen the exterior of the chassis, it is time to look at its internal secrets. To access its interior we just have to remove the side panel and its four hand screws, something that does not have any difficulty.

The first thing we see is the installation area of the motherboard, NZXT H400i supports Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX models. This area of the motherboard has multiple openings for cable management.

Despite being a small chassis, it offers a lot of space inside, this is because everything is very well organized to optimize the use of space to the maximum.

In the lower area we see the cover for the power supply, in this area we can screw a 2.5-inch hard drive. Also in the lower area we can screw a 3.5-inch hard drive, something that we have already advanced before. NZXT has included rubber pads to reduce possible vibrations from the power supply, we see that they have thought of all the details.

Two 120mm fans have been included in the front, something that guarantees a good air flow as standard along with the 120mm rear fan that has also been included. A large dust filter has been placed on the front to prevent dirt from entering, it can be easily removed for cleaning.

We also see the smart controller that NZXT has attached, this one has a power input that connects to a SATA cable, and it offers us three connectors for fans, a USB 2.0 connector for the motherboard and a connector for the RGB LED strip included with the chassis to improve aesthetics.

CAM software

We have used NZXT CAM to thoroughly test the chassis and its intelligent controller that allows you to regulate both the lighting and the cooling of your computer. There are several default profiles but you can also create your own.

Another feature is to carry the monitoring of all the components, the possibility of overclocking or activating the FPS counter while you play. Can we ask for something more?

Final words and conclusion about NZXT H400i

The NZXT H400i is positioned as one of the great alternatives among the micro ATX chassis that exist on the market today. A design nailed to that of its sisters H200i and H700i and what good performance it offered us in our analyzes.

We have to confess that the color scheme that NZXT always uses is great. This model in black / red is spectacular. We have mounted an i7-8700K processor with a low-end LGA 1151 motherboard, 4GB Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti and a 500GB SSD. Results? The equipment goes fine fine and with a great refrigeration?

Currently we can find it in online stores for a price of 140 euros. Is it a price? Maybe, but it is worth every euro that we invest in this chassis. Good job NZXT!
