NZXT H700i is the largest proposal of the manufacturer's new H series, we are talking about the successor to the S340 and S340 Elite chassis from which it inherits sharp edges along with a very smooth and attractive surface and excellent equipment wiring management. In addition to this, some extras have been added that make it an "intelligent" chassis.

NZXT H700i technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

NZXT H700i is presented in a large white cardboard box. On its cover stands out the image of the box and a notice to the delivery man that there is a crystal inside. Inside we will find the chassis very well accommodated, protected by several pieces of cork and a plastic bag to avoid damaging its surface.

While on the side it details the main characteristics of the box.

Inside we find the following bundle:

  • NZXT H700i chassis in white color. Hardware and tools needed for assembly. Instruction manual / quick guide. Led strip extension. Flanges. Welcome letter.

The NZXT H700i is a high-end chassis that aspires to be one of the best on the market, for this it is based on the use of the highest quality SECC steel together with a tempered glass window on the main side, which will allow us to see all the components of our equipment and enjoy its advanced lighting systems, in addition to the two RGB strips included with the chassis.

It reaches measures of 230mm x 516mm x 494mm and a weight of 12.27 Kg. Undoubtedly an important figure that is due to the use of excellent quality materials and the large size of the chassis.

We can see that on both sides air intakes have been included to improve the flow within the equipment, we know very well that NZXT is one of the manufacturers of PC chassis that best takes care of all the details and this was not going to be an exception.

In the upper area, the panel with all the connection ports and buttons has been installed, in this case we have two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.1 ports and the 3.5 mm jack connectors for audio and micro in addition to the buttons ignition and reset.

We look at the back and we find a configuration that allows up to seven expansion slots and we see that the area of the power supply is at the bottom, the ideal location to avoid eating all the hot air from inside the As the source is in the lower area, it takes fresh air directly from outside the chassis and expels it from the rear.

Before going deeper, we leave you a view of the lower part of the tower. To highlight the 4 rubber feet and the dust filter.

Interior and assembly

To access the interior it is as simple as removing the 4 screws that fix the tempered glass with the chassis. We recommend you have an area to temporarily store the tempered glass without it can break or be damaged in any accident.

IF we look at the area of the motherboard we see that the NZXT H700i is compatible with Mini-ITX, MicroATX, ATX and EATX models, so it will adjust to the needs of all users, however varied they may be, however, it is necessary to ask yourself what is the point of opting for such a large chassis if you are going to mount a Mini-ITX board. The large size of the chassis gives us a lot of space with which we can mount a CPU cooler with a maximum height of 185 mm, which gives perfect compatibility with the most powerful models on the market.

Speaking of cooling, four fans have been included as standard, three of them 120mm for air intake and one 140m for removing hot air, making it a positive pressure-oriented chassis. The user will be able to mount a total of five additional fans for a final configuration that remains as follows: As always, NZXT has taken special care with cable management, for this purpose there is a complete management system throughout the rear of the motherboard tray and containing velcro ties screwed into the box. Proper wiring organization is very important to achieve a very clean assembly that does not negatively influence the internal air flow of the equipment.

  • Front: 3 x 120/2 x 140mm (includes 3 Aer F120) Top: 3 x 120/2 x 140mm Back: 1 x 120/1 x 140mm (Includes 1 Aer F140)

If we talk about liquid cooling we can mount up to two 140 mm or three 120 m radiators at the front and the same configuration at the rear.

The aesthetic is enhanced by an RGB LED strip on the top of the chassis and an additional 12 "strip that is magnetic so that the user can place it where they prefer, with this we already have a new chassis that is committed to the fashion of the era RGB. The lighting is managed by a "smart" controller that is also used by fans, something that we will see later.

Now we're talking about hard drive bays, the NZXT H700i offers us a total of three 2.5 "bays included with the case that can be inserted into the front or top of the PSU cover with spring loaded catches as well as also two standard screw-in compartments behind the motherboard. Two 3.5 ″ compartments are stacked on top of each other under the cover, and one or both can be removed.

NZXT makes it very easy for us to access the right panel: A little button! Inside we can see the excellent work that the company has done to facilitate cable management and the ability to install storage units.

We leave you some images with a very high-end configuration: Gigabyte X299 Gaming 7, i9-7900X, 512 GB 960 EVO SSD, Nvidia GTX 1060 and a water cooler. The result is great!

CAM software

The smart device is one of the main attractions of the H series and responsible for its high price, it is not sold separately so we cannot know its cost, but it combines functions of the NZXT Grid + and HUE + controllers that add up of 30 euros each. This smart device controls one lighting channel with individual control over each LED and three fan speed channels along with a noise reduction function through the CAM interface.

This proposal aims to use machine learning to find the perfect balance between noise and cooling capacity. It is super useful because it allows us to manage the fan curve manually or directly with the profiles predefined by NZXT : Silent mode or maximum performance. Another of the super interesting options because it allows us to manage LED lighting with a wide variety of effects and a palette of up to 16.8 million colors.

Final words and conclusion about NZXT H700i

The NZXT H700i is one of the best cases we've tested! We really liked its design, the ability to install high-performance components, its tempered glass and its cooling system.

As you have seen in our analysis we have assembled a top of the range equipment. At the aesthetic level it is brutal, out of 10! We also really liked the ease of mounting components and the routing system for routing all cables.

Special mention to the GRID + V3 controller that allows controlling all the fans with an adaptive sound control system. What does this mean? Speaking in Christian, it allows you to control both the fans and their sound. Being the first system to incorporate this type of system at the factory.

Its price in Spain is estimated at 199.95 euros. High price? Yes, but we believe that it is worth every euro that we invest in it. We have it available in black, white, red or blue. Which one would you choose? ?
