Official: the xperia z family will no longer be with us
Table of contents:
Not long ago we told you about the Sony Xperia Z5 , the latest installment in the Xperia Z family who have represented the high-end Sony since 2013 .
The Z family of Xperia will no longer be with us
And last week during MWC16 we told you all about the new Sony Xperia X , which came as a surprise to everyone, although none expected what happened next.
The Xperia Z Family will be discontinued, although some of us assumed that it could happen, as we were struck by the lack of a new family member who used to be featured frequently at the during the MWC as well as the IFA.
The news caught us off guard, because although three different models were presented, one of which would become the new manager to carry the name of " Insignia Ship ", the feeling left in the hand is not the most premium there is right now in the market.
While manufacturers like Samsung and LG opted for materials like glass and metal, Sony decided to go with a mix of both, in a different way than in previous years.
Even though it offers a “brushed” metal finish if you compare them side by side, the Sony Xperia Z5 has a bit of an edge.
Offering everything you could ask for from a high-end mobile in 2016, the Xperia X performance has it.
The news came from the hand of a Sony Global representative who said the following:
The Xperia Z line has reached its culmination - The Xperia X series represents a new chapter and evolution of our product strategy. While the Xperia Z series was about bringing the best of Sony's advanced technology to smartphones, the Xperia X series is about delivering adaptive and intelligent user experiences, through camera, battery performance and hardware / software design.
Which means that the Xperia Z5 will be the last exponent of the noble family.
But still, would you choose the X performance over the z5? Let us know in the comments below or on twitter.
