OnePlus, revolutionized in 2014 with the departure of its OnePlus One smartphone and its famous invitation system. Now it's time for one of the best quality / price terminals on the market, the OnePlus X. With quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and two very good cameras.

Although the OnePlus Two was launched this summer, it seems that it has not had as much expectation as its first creation and wants it to take over from the terminal with more "hype" with the new OnePlus X. Attentive to our review, we show you many secrets!

OnePlus X technical features

OnePlus X comes packed in a small cardboard box, simple and on its cover we see a clear X and the manufacturer's logo. Once we open it we find inside:

The OnePlus X presents a design to match any high-end on the market. It is available in a glass version and a second in ceramic. In our case we have the ceramic design in white, and in person it looks amazing, leaving the Sony Xperia Z5, Xiaomi Mi4C or Samsung Galaxy S6 to another level. The size of the terminal is 69.1 x 140.3 x 6.9 mm and it has a weight of 138 grams.

It has a 5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (441 ppi density) that offer great quality in its colors and unbeatable blacks. The screen also has a useful surface of 70% of the front area, so it is quite improvable and to protect itself from scratches it has the Gorilla Glass 3 protection signed by the Corning company.

On the right side we find the on / off button and volume adjustment. In this image you can see how the metal frame is grated to give a more pleasant feeling to the touch.

We also have the tray to insert a microSD, Dual microSIM or NanoSIM card. Being the Chinese version it only has one IMEI, the European one that has two IMEIs.

While on the left side we have the button that allows us to choose between three profiles: Normal, Do not disturb or silence as we find in the Iphone 6 or 6S.

In the upper area we have the mini-jack output and in the back the microUSB connection, speaker and microphone.

In the lower area we find the speaker, the microUSB connection and the microphone.

Inside it houses the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (Krait 400) SoC processor with eight cores at 2.3 GHz and 64-bit architecture. As expected, it comes equipped with 3 GB of RAM and the powerful Adreno 330 graphics card that will allow us to enjoy any Android game without problems.

Regarding its internal storage we have 16GB as standard, which we can expand to 128GB via microSD. This enlargement will be cheap and we will have no limitations when it comes to making a large number of images and videos.

About connectivity, we have support for both 2G / 3G / 4G LTE lines, WiFi 802.11 b / g / n connection, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, nano-SIM card, A-GPS, Accelerometer, Barometer, Compass, Gyroscope, FM RADIO, light and proximity sensor. We detail the supported frequencies:

2G: GSM 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz. 3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900 / 2100MHz. 4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100 / 2600MHz.

Operating system and interface

About the operating system, it has the popular Google Android in its 5.1.1 Lollipop version and a very fluid interface that does not use a cash system. This is Hydrogen OS and after my experience for a week the result has been excellent, few applications by default and a more than satisfactory experience.

It allows us to modify the functions of the navigation buttons, the screen block, which automatically turns off or on, action manager (camera with an O, flashlight with V, etc…), optimization of the battery and storage.

Multimedia

The multimedia section we have a main camera camera based on a 13 megapixel sensor assisted by a double LED flash, autofocus and facial detection. With this sensor they are capable of recording video at a resolution of 1080p and a speed of 30 fps. While the front with an 8 megapixel sensor and is capable of recording videos at 1080p.

Battery and fast charge

It has a 2525 mAh non-removable battery that offers acceptable autonomy. In our tests we have been able to end the day with a 25% battery with a screen usage of 4 hours and little, for very demanding users it is a small handicap.

Games

Final words and conclusion

The OnePlus X is one of the best quality / price and mid-range smartphones on the market. We find a high-end design, excellent image quality, a TOP processor from last year and 3GB of RAM. It also has two SIM cards (Nano and microSIM), NFC and the possibility of expanding its 16GB of internal memory to 128GB via microSD.

I wish it had fast charging, NFC connectivity, and a microUSB Type-C connector. Its price ranges from 250 to 300 euros (depending on the store). So we can say that it is a clear rival to the Xiaomi Mi4C (See comparison).
