Playerunknown's battlegrounds receives its new snowy vikendi map

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a game that looked like it was going to eat the world, but it has been gradually deflating due to the lack of news, and the arrival of competitors such as Fortnite.The PUBG development team has prepared a new snowy mountain region that Players have been waiting to have their new adventures in a snowy setting. Finally, the new Vikendi map has been announced at The Game Awards.

While the official public release of the Vikendi map for PC is scheduled for December 19, the game's test servers are already giving access to the region on Steam. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players will have to wait until January to jump on new adventures on the snowfield. Vikendi's map size lies between Erangel and Sanhok, offering the best of both worlds.

The map features snowmobiles to quickly traverse frozen lakes and snowy terrain, but you'll need to be careful when walking as the snow will leave tracks that anyone could track. The G36C assault rifle and a revamped repeat editor also arrive as new additions to the survival adventure.

Even with the release of a new map, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has tough times ahead of it, as the competition is much fiercer than when the game first hit players around the world. Valve announced its own battle royale mode for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, while also making the game free. Meanwhile, Activision introduced a new edition of Black Ops 4 for PC for € 30, the same price as PUBG, which features only the battle royale and multiplayer potions.
